Then I did a second bibisect on the preceding commits, which, to no surprise
pointed to the this range:

...which is the same series of commits. Since the author is Caolán, adding Cc:

If these commits build on Linux, and a bisect would be helpful, I can do that,

Btw, I used attachment 129188 provided by Telesto in comment 3.
There is another, small performance drop between 5.0.0.5 and 5.1.0.3 from
instant switching to almost instant switching (with same ODG file), please open
a separate bug report on that.
