If you don't have kde env or other window managers, it's normal you got the
same display.
I wonder if it could be a package dependency pb on Mint.
Could you attach the result of apt-cache search libreoffice?
I'm thinking about packages with keyword like "gtk", "gtk3", "integration" or
"desktop".
