So this was transparent possibly - but I have a vague memory of some fix I made
to deduce underlying redirector based on the UNC... possibly something to do in
this case, either.

Well - didn't get this. What is the issue here? do you mean that you can't
reguster URL handlers when installing? then you could try to create a command
line like `soffice https://path/to/file.doc` maybe? Or how permissions play
role here in other ways? (asking to educate myself, please don't take offence
here)
