Unfortunately this gets a bit political. And in this case it is statute--both
EU and Spanish administrative implementation of the ECRML [1]. "Valencian" is
encoded to ISO 639.3 as a valid alternate name of Catalan.
We already acknowledge what is the political reality with a localization as in
ca-ES-valencia.xml. So is a suggestion of a UI change from showing "Catalan
(Valencian)" to simply "Valencian"--using the valid ISO 639 "alternate" name as
is local practice--so objectionable?
