On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I can't reproduce this.
I enabled "extended tips" on options/general, I can only see "Shrink" for icon
at the right of empty box where you can enter value.
The "fx" in "fx" icon becomes bold when hovering the cursor on it and letting
it.
What did I miss?
