Alternatively (or additionally), the task of deleting entries in recent list
could be given to the user (who will have more insight into/about their network
shares, pen drives, etc.)
See bug 61174, comment 0 (under "3. IDEAL", point a) where it is suggested to
have an x next to each item, or I would propose "right-click, delete" to avoid
accidents.).
Would satisfy basic need for many users (and save developers from mind-reading
about network drives, etc.)
