For anyone needing a workaround for this bug, start LibreOffice with
XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus GTK_IM_MODULE=xim soffice
This can be automated in Ubuntu / Wasta with
sudo cat > /etc/profile.d/libreoffice << EOF
XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus GTK_IM_MODULE=xim
EOF
