Can't reproduce using LibreOffice 4.0.0.2 rc2 with Linux Mint 14 x64. Both exported pdfs show same result, no green rectangle or missing image. Therefore I think it's OS related. Do you have any extensions installed? And to exclude it's an user profile problem, is it possible for you to reset your user profile (guide: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resetting_the_user_profile)?
