On my OSX server, I get a IVL4 format not supported and can not insert a test AVI. If I try with a mp4 file, the video clip plays in presentation mode, but the preview is still a grey/black box with a symbol of a loudspeaker, that won't play in Slide Edit mode. If I try a WMV file, I can play it in Flip4Mac, but it will not preview or play in presentation mode in LO. I can not insert a webm format video clip either, LO replies that the format is unsupported, yet it plays in my browser. For a multimedia platform such as the Mac, this is pretty useless.
