Sigh - just to make this emphatically clear. LibreOffice ships -zero- media
codecs, and given the extraordinary state of the media industry, that is set to
continue.

As such we use the underlying Mac quicktime API and streaming services. If a 
QTMovieView will not show the movie - neither will we.

I have no idea what other apps will use the raw mac QTMovieView API / impl. but
if they can show you a movie - then it should work in LibreOffice; if not -
then we cannot.

Can you verify that whatever codec you're talking about: webm, ogv etc. is
registered with the operating-system ?
