Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61029
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FILEOPEN: Can't open Word document saved in "shared
documents" folder
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.0.0.3 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
I installed LibreOffice 4.0.0.3 on a Windows XP Home Edition (SP3) system and
when I save a document in Word 97/XP/2003 format in the "Shared Documents"
folder, that file can't be opened by another user account and LibreOffice
reports the file is "locked by user 'unknown'". I AM able to open another copy
for editing.
Here are the steps to recreate:
1. Start LibreOffice Writer
2. Create any kind of document
3. Use the "Save As" function to save the document in the "Shared Documents"
folder in Word 97/XP/2003 format
4. Logout of the current user account
5. Login to another user account
6. Navigate to the "Shared Documents" folder
7. Double-click on the Word document to open it.
8. Get the warning popup window indicating the file can't be opened for editing
due to be locked by user "unknown".
When I save documents in the logged in user's "My Documents" folder, they can
be opened without problems. When I login as the user which created the
document which was saved in the "Shared Documents" folder and I go to the
"Shared Documents" folder and double-click the file, it opens in LibreOffice
Writer without issue.
This Windows system does NOT have Microsoft Office installed on it.
Let me know if you need any additional information.
