Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61179
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FILESAVE: File saving is awfully slow
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.0.0.3 release
Component: Spreadsheet
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description:
Saving a file in Calc (and Writer, didn't try other components yet) is really
slow. Even saving a newly created empty file takes five seconds. Opening and
closing files is also pretty slow.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open or create a file
2. Save it
Current behavior:
Saving takes several seconds (at least five seconds, sometimes considerably
longer)
Expected behavior:
Saving should be nearly instantaneous
Additional Information:
The test system runs on Windows 8 and contains an SSD and an HDD (though
everything is on the SSD at the moment). Every action is lightning fast
(starting LibreOffice, loading/saving files in other programs) except for file
opening / saving / closing in LibreOffice.
It was even faster on a pretty old machine running XP.
Operating System: Windows 8
Version: 4.0.0.3 release
