While it's true that with the sheet protection removed, the column jump does nor occur, the original workbook was not designed to operate in that fashion. There is partial protection by design. Some cells are protected, some are not. In that mode, the column jump will occur. I've just retested this by reinstalling 6.3.0.4 in a "parallel" install. It's hard to see how that could be an expected behavior. Also, changing this status at this late date, seems odd considering the unexpected behavior was resolved in subsequent releases (quite some time ago).
