If you'd like the Text box button simply check it enabled.
Tools -> Customize -> Toolbar and set the Target to the "Drawing" toolbar. The
checkbox for the "Text box" (.uno:Text) is there and can be enabled.
The "Text box" is available on the "Text" toolbar, but the button is not shown
enabled by default on the Drawing toolbar. Also would note that the default
<F2> short cut assigned to the UNO performs the the action without needing the
to press the toolbar button. Just <F2> and draw the Text box rectangle...
