No, although it is hard to make something that will satisfy everyone, doing what you asked for is not hard... It's just that I tried doing it and I thought that the current version is better... Other apps provide icons that just happen to look more appealing, LO just happens for historical/legacy reasons to keep these shapes. That's what I thought would be best, because those "shapes" have become iconic, whether liked or not. Perhaps I did not grasp the suggestion. I do not understand how exactly the icon does not follow the Apple Icon guidelines. Compared to the last icon, this new one manages to be much more coherent with the other icons on the dock. It's also possible after 2-3 major updates, icons might be changed again. But it's up to many people.
