Stéphane Guillou (stragu) <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution|--- |NOTABUG Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED CC| |stephane.guillou@libreoffic | |e.org Component|LibreOffice |Printing and PDF export Summary|Der Name der vom Write |The name of the PDF file |generierten PDF- Datei kann |generated by Writer cannot |in einigen PDF- Reader |be displayed in some PDF |nicht dargestellt werden |readers --- Comment #4 from Stéphane Guillou (stragu) <[email protected]> --- ---- Description translated by LibreTranslate: Created attachment 186483 [details] Presentation of the PDF file name in various PDF viewers/readers The name of the PDF file exported by the write cannot be displayed in some PDF readers. In some known PDF readers, the text appears instead of the file name: "Receiver / short description in the document title". So it is in - Adobe Akrobat Reader - PDF XChange Viewer - PDF XChange Editor Other readers represent the file name completely. So it is in - WPS Office - PDF24 Reader If the ODT file is stored in docx format, and then generated with MS Word as a PDF file, the file name is displayed in all readers. ---- Steps copied from attached file: 1. I use an OTT file as a document template, for example an existing file Privat briefvorlage_din_5008.ott (Private letter template_din_5008.ott). 2. On this basis I write a letter and save it as 20230412 Test 1.odt. 3. I export this ODT File as 20230412 Test 1.pdf. 4. I open this PDF- file with one of the PDF readers, such as Adobe Acrobat, PDF-Xchange Viewer or PDF-XChange Editor. 5. The document appears in the form of an index card (tab) with the name Briefvorlage DIN 5008 universal (Letter template DIN 5008 universal). The PDF file name 20230412 Test 1.pdf was expected. 6. If the file 20230412 Test 1.pdf in the WPS Office or in the PDF24 Reader to open, the file name appears correctly (as 20230412 Test 1.pdf) in the tab title. 7. If the ODT text file is created without using an OTT document template and further exported as PDF file or 8. if the ODT text file is saved as a DOCX or as a DOC file and further saved as a PDF file with MS Word the file name in the tab title will be displayed correctly in all PDF readers. ---- My response: I believe this is "not a bug". The different PDF readers will display different information in the title bar, some show the file name, others show the document title. In Writer, the document title is set in: File > Properties > Description, and I can see the title "Briefvorlage DIN 5008 universal" in your attached file "20230412 Test 1.odt". It must come from the document / template you based your document on. You can change that value or remove it entirely if needed. Hope that explains it!
