            Bug ID: 159001
Summary: Delete extra spaces when editing in Writer
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.3.6.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: macOS (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
With the text "one two three", when I double-click "two" and press delete, two
spaces remain between "one" and "three". Many full-featured word processors,
e.g. Microsoft Word, have a Smart Delete feature so that only one space is left
after the deletion.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select text to delete.
2. Press delete.
3. Note that two spaces remain where the text was.

Actual Results:
Extra space must be deleted separately.

Expected Results:
Extra space should be deleted along with the selected text. Microsoft Word and
other programs do this.

Reproducible: Always
