that sounds quite useful, but i don't know why a special build would be
required for this: there is a "user mode install" script that will
install the RPM releases of OOo/LO into a user-specified directory
without any system integration, and it works even on Debian based
distros (just have to install the rpm package).
because this script is produced as part of the build i'll attach it.

for example i've got the releases LO 3.3/3.4, OOo 3.4beta, every OOo
3.x.1 release plus OOo 2.4.3 installed that way, and all of them run on
Fedora 16 (the older ones have issues though, e.g. OOo 2 does not
display UI fonts which makes it difficult to use, plus it doesn't
install without tweaking the script).
