I absolutely agree with "Grant". OK, so those of you believe it is a good idea, you could help me perhaps... download my DVD ISO (from my link),and give some feedback. You can run it on virtual machine, which can be destroyed/reverted afterwards.
I believe, that this war - is one of eco-systems -- pushing Windows users to use LibreOffice + FFox is good -- it gives businesses incentives to write web-sites, that are FFox friendly and sent documents that can be opened by Free Software. My disc won't instantly convert 100% MS users into GNU/Linux gNewSense users, but it will slowly destroy MS eco-system. For example, if all my friends use Skype and use MPEG4 videos, I will have trouble migrating to Free Software, even if I have zero Windows-only killer-apps. What holds me back ? Proprietary eco-systems ! But if they use IRC + WebM - then no problem - I can migrate. This is a war of eco-systems, that we speak about. So even if some users won't migrate to GNU/Linux right away due to Windows-only killer-apps, it will let their friends migrate. The real aim of TheOpenDVD, is to destroy the proprietary eco-systems (Skype/IE/VMware/MS-Office/Adobe...), which will let some users (along with friends) to migrate to entirely Free systems later. -- -Alexey Eromenko "Technologov"
