Subject: Display Drivers/Window Crashes

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could point me towards the latest display drivers
for the 1050/1100 (on the Japanese site I suppose) - couldn't get the link
on David's site to work. It's just that at the moment, my 1050 is crashing
remarkably frequently, resulting in accompanying cries of joy and delight.

It happens every now and then after I have left it for a few minutes and
the screen has turned off - either it plain doesn't turn back on again, or
it is left quivering with little luminescent flecks indicating what could
have been. It's not as if the OS (win98lite) is continuing in the
background either - appropriate shut-down or save keypresses have no
effect, neither does the power button in either its hibernate or shut-down
mode.

I removed the fuzzy-lightbulb power saver, in case it was this, and also
disabled the "reset display on resume" option in the monitor settings to no
avail. Any ideas would be appreciated, as having to remember to save one's
work all the time, and approaching the mouse button with trepidation every
time the screen is dark is getting to be a bit old.

(The display is the NeoMagic 128XD of course, and the drivers that came
with it are later than the '98 ones for the 100/110 on the US/Canadian
Toshiba sites - driver on this machine is 4.11.01.0018-T6.24.00-98m)

Thanks,

Simon
