Hi Jacques,

thank you for your report about installing a 12GB HD in a Libretto and
describing a setup to make it compatible with Ghost. I have read it
and found it very interesting. I will also keep it for reference. The
reasons why I didn't reply or comment include:

  - I just came back from 2.5 weeks of vacation, so I had a long
backlog of articles to read and things to do.

  - I don't have Ghost and don't plan on buying it at the moment
(though it's interesting to read about it and its features).

  - I have a DARA-212000, too, but haven't gotten around to putting
it into my Libretto 100, so I cannot provide my own facts yet.

  - I will have to make my own tests with hibernation anyway, as
I am using a multiboot setup of different operating systems
including Linux on it, with more than six partitions.

Generally, I only reply to something in a newsgroup or on a mailing
list if I have an additional question or if I can add real value to the
discussion. Neither was the case here for the reasons listed above. But
rest assured that your report was well received and will certainly have
a helping effect to readers on the net, even if you don't get direct
feedback.

And I am very sorry that your Libretto went bad, but I have no idea what
you could do about it (other than the obvious "ask Toshiba"). I never
had a hardware failure like this, I have never taken my Libretto apart,
and I am not a computer service technician, so I can't even speculate
what could be causing your Librettos failure and how to repair it. If
no one has replied, I'd guess that no one on this list has seen this
problem before, otherwise I'm sure he or she had gotten in touch with
you. With possibly a couple of thousand readers on this list, I'd argue
it's better to receive no answer at all than a "I don't know!" from
every single one ;-)

So, please cheer up and don't get frustrated too fast!

All the best,
Arndt
