Ah yes, well you have to remember the advantages of the LSD system:
apart from anything else, you can divide pounds by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12,
15, 16, 20, 24, 30, 40, 48, 60, 80, and 120...
in decimal, all you get is 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50. Not half as much fun.
Of course the best thing about decimalisation was that the new 2p coin was
the same size and weight as the old halfpenny but worth five times as
much...and vending machines couldn't tell the difference!
