Subject: Installing a new hard drive in L50

Libretters,

I am going to be installing a new (empty) 6GB in my L50 tonight. I have Win95 on
floppies and on a CD. I need help/advice regarding the best method to get Win95 onto
that new drive.

I would like to avoid using the floppies. Since I bought it used, I don't have any of
the original CD(s) or floppy(ies) that would have come with my Libretto.

Assets: I have an Adaptec PCMCIA SCSI card and an external SCSI CD-ROM drive. I also
have an Enhanced Port Replicator. I have another laptop with a CD-ROM drive that may
be part of my solution. I can get my hands on null modem adapters and serial cradles,
if necessary.

I don't know anything about enabling PCMCIA services in DOS (to gain access to my CD).
Am I better off installing from floppies than trying to get my machine to recognize my
CD-ROM drive via my PCMCIA SCSI card? Can anyone give me some data on this?

How would you folks get Win95 installed, given the assets I have listed above? The
floodgates are open to suggestions.

Big TIA,

-e.
