I have the 70CT, and since I have been on this list, we all speak of the 9.5 mm drives fitting. The only problem seemed to be that memory chips were becoming unsocketed(?) for some people with the 70CT and a 9.5 mm drive. Since 8.45 mm drives are rare (and not cheap it seems), I figured that I would get a 12GB 9.5 mm drive. I hope that will not happen to me, but I was wondering if anyone had opinions on the following: Onsale has a 12 GB drive now for $222.99 Toshiba MK1214GAP 12GB ATA/66 HD-2.5LP 9.5MM 13MS 4200RPM http://www.egghead.com/category/inv/00058614/02834018.htm I think this is the one where the two pins need to be jumpered to get the drive to master mode. Can anyone confirm this? They also have the 12GB IBM drive for $214.99 TRAVELSTAR 12GN 12.0G HD-ATA/66 4200 RPM 9MM http://www.egghead.com/category/inv/00062895/02941692.htm I think this is the one where a few people have had problems with memory chips. Anyone have any opinions regarding either drive or preferences, please respond to the group. 8) Thanks, -Eugene- ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ -------UNSUBSCRIBE------- mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=cmd:unsubscribe --------UNSUBSCRIBE DIGEST------ Use above but add DIGEST to the subject line... **************************************************************
