I have made a contribution to Jonathan A. Buzzard Toshiba utilities
( http://www.buzzard.org.uk/toshiba/ )
It adjusts the backlight on L50 and L100 Libretti (and maybe on some other Toshiba
laptops)
with 5 levels from 'off' to 'bright'
