Hi Eugene and others;
I have use Delorme SA 5 & 6 and A Garmin GPSII+ for two years with my
Libretto. Delorme products can be extracted to the hard drive by states.
When I had the 810 drive doubled space I had 8 states to cover my bicycle
riding area from Mass to VA. Now I have 6 gig and extracted the whole
country to the drive. see my moving map page to see my car and Bicycle
setup. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/bcotton/tripmate.htm
This year I bought the Garmin eMap and 16 meg memory cartage. I also bought
Garmin's Mapsource Road and Recreation CD map.I found out about a virtual CD
drive from this group and have R&R and TopoUSA installed on my Libretto 50.
The maps are installed on the eMap data card by counties. I have 59 counties
installed, and only use the Libretto in the car when I want the talking
direction, I feed the output from the Libby to a tape gadget to amplify the
sound.
The advice from the news group that discuss GPS; sci.geo.satellite-nav is
to get the cheapest GPS head, like Sony and Delorme has if you are to use it
with a computer. This site has a lot of information
