Subject: GPS Thanks

I must give my great thanks.

I really appreciate how great the Libretto newsgroup is. There are so many
qualified individuals here who have experimented with the different
technologies.

>From the current discussions, the Etrex seems to be a great little unit, and
far cheaper than the Emap that I was looking at. I however found a great
deal on the Earthmate Road Warrior ($148.00 with $5.00 shipping) on an
auction site. It's new, and it will also interface with both my PC and a
Palm device. The only problem is that I lost my Palm IIIxe last Sunday.
8( I will wait to replace the Palm, but I definitely need the GPS. I
still also need to buy a good auto adapter and new battery for the L70CT.
Does anyone have suggestions on the best one (perhaps with fuses or better
voltage regulation)?

For the price it will work well with the Libretto, and since I have an extra
full-docking station, I am thinking of permanantly mounting the docking
station and the GPS to either my dash or a lap board (as mentioned here).

The overall cost should be about $250-$275 for the parts (power adapters and
such), but it also includes the Palm software and cable. The Etrex is small
and neat, so if I lose this bid, I think I will try and get one of those.
Otherwise the Road Warrior package will meet my needs.

Has anyone dealt on Ebay with the fellow selling (he has been selling tons
of) Libretto spare parts from Albany, NY?

Does Toshiba actually still make batteries, or are those being sold a year
old already?

-Eugene-
