Was it a Toshiba Repair center? Sometimes, it maybe something as silly as
the CMOS battery has died (yes, that'll stop any Libretto fast) and they are
cheap to replace if they're the problem. Maybe talk to www.micsol.com for the
battery if you think it might be that.

We'll naturally assume you've tried booting on AC already, of course.

  Nope. BAD Toshiba! BAD!!

Well, NEC (Japan), Sony (picturebook, larger by a bit), Palmax (Taiwan
clone), etc. make similarly sized models.

www.dynamism.com & www.jpd.com will list the more popular smaller sized
clones.

They also carry the Japanese Librettos which they'll convert to US OS for
you.

Both are reliable dealers of imports.

Beyond that, you'll simply have to do the Ebay.com bidding thing on a
L70/100/110/etc. As long as the seller has lots of positive feedback (10+) and
has no problems in the past, you should be okay with it. I've bought and sold
over 60+ items thus far and have had no problems whatsoever this way.

Remember the stealth bid. Place your bid in at the last possible second to
blow everyone else out of the water - you'll easily win most of the products
you bid on this way. Just remember to synchronize your PC time to the US
atomic time server so you have accurate timing.

  d =)
