I've used both the Webgear cards and the Proxim cards as part of my
work. I bought the Webgear cards for the simple reason that they had
longer range and higher throughput, and Linux drivers that interoperate
with the Windows ones (and they were cheaper). I use them at home to
share my DSL connection with no problems.
Not that it's a problem in the States, but the Proxim cards won't go
through concrete walls and floors like we have in newer buildings in
Europe. That was an absolute show-stopper.
