Hi. What's the deal with Win98/SE on the L100 with suspend/resume?

One page says suspend/resume does not work on the 100, and should be disabled.

QUOTE>The Libretto 100CT does not come back from Hibernation or Standby. The desktop
screen re-appears and the mouse pointer can be controlled but the system does not
respond to any keyboard input or mouse button control.

Procedure
The Hibernation and Standby features are not supported in Windows 98
and 98SE on the Libretto 100CT. We recommend that you disable the
Hibernate and Standby features by following this procedure:

1. Click on Start and select Settings and click on Control Panel.
2. Double click on the Power Management icon. The Power Management
       Properties window will appear.
3. Under the "Power Schemes" tab there is a section called
"Settings for Portable/Laptop power scheme". For "System
Standby", change it to read "Never" for both "Plugged in"
and "Running on batteries" and Click on "Apply".

Note: You will need to make these changes for all "Power
schemes". After changing these settings for each of the
power schemes be sure to click on "Apply" for the changes
         to take affect.
4. Click on the tab labeled "Advanced". In the section called
"Power buttons" under "When I close the lid of my portable
computer", change it to read "None" or Shutdown". Under
"When I press the power button on my computer" change it to
       read "Shutdown".
5. Click on the tab labeled "Hibernate" and remove the check for
       "Enable hibernate support".
6. Click on "Apply" for your changes to take affect and then click
on "OK" to continue. This will close the Power Properties
       window.
7. In the Control Panel window, double click on the "Power Save"
icon. The Power Saver Properties window will appear.
8. Under the "Power Save Modes" tab click on the "Details..."
button. This will open the setup window for the selected
power mode. Click on the tab labeled "System". Select "Boot
Mode" and click on "Apply" then "OK" to continue. This will
close the setup window for the selected power save mode.
Click on "OK" to continue. This will close the Power Saver
       Properties window.

Note: You will need to make these changes for both the
"Battery Power" and "External Power" Power Settings and for
each of the Power Save Modes you use.
9. Restart your computer by clicking on Start, then select Shut
Down. Select "Restart" and click on "OK".
10. The Hibernation and Standby features are now disabled.

(Libretto 100CT includes: 100CT)

ACPI Flash BIOS version 8.00 for Libretto 100CT. This is the initial Windows 2000
BIOS release for this model. WinZIP Self-extracting ZIP file creates bootable BIOS
installation diskette when run under Windows (9x, 3.x, NT, or Win-OS2). Also

CHANGE HISTORY

Version 8.00 02-07-2000

A changed was made to support Windows 2000.
A power off failure, when running Windows NT, with SP4, was corrected.
When copying a file from a 120MB FDD, using a Super Disk (LS-120), while running
Windows 95/98, and then attempting to open that file under DOS mode, caused files, in
excess of 50MB, to be corrupted.
Version 7.30 12-11-1998

Corrected a problem where, when executing hibernation under Win98 with a USB keyboard
connected, the USB keyboard was disabled causing an exception error after resuming.
Corrected a problem where the system would intermittently hang after suspending or
booting the system while it was connected to the CardDock.
Corrected a problem where, when using an incorrect key floppy diskette, the password
would be canceled.
Corrected a problem where a low-speed USB device does not work via a CATC hub.
Corrected a problem where, when the display shutdown was set to "enabled" in the
display properties under Windows 95, the system would not go to the DPMS standby even
though the CRT is turned off after the set time.
A new function was added to update the Boot Block BIOS to V1.10. (Caution: If power
is turned off while updating the Boot Block BIOS, the machine will not operate. Make
sure the AC adapter is used while updating the BIOS.)
Version 7.20 08-28-1998

Corrected a problem under Windows 98, where, if a message was displayed on the LCD
prior to hibernation, the message would not appear on the LCD if the AC power was
removed from the system during a return from hibernation.
Corrected a problem where, if the PC card controller mode was set to "PCIC
Compatible" mode, the PC card controller was not recognized under Device Manager and
although docked with the CardDock, the docking was not recognized.
Corrected a problem under Windows 98 where, if the display is off, the system would
hang after trying to shutdown with the power switch or by closing the LCD panel.
Corrected a problem where, after suspending/resuming, the serial port would not work.
Initial Production Release for Libretto 110CT.
Version 7.10 01-05-1999

Corrected a problem where, when removing AC power from the system while returning
from hibernation mode, no image would appear on the LCD.
Corrected a problem where, when starting Win98 with the PC card controller set to
PCIC compatible mode, the PC card controller was not recognized under Device manager
and although the system was docked with a CardDock, the docking was not recognized.
Version 7.00 07-13-1998

Adds ACPI functionality for Windows 98
Version 6.50 04-10-1998

A change was made to reduce the time required to resume from suspend or hibernation
mode with a Card-Bus installed and configured in Auto-Select or Card Bus mode
A correction was made so that when Win95 is activated, either in boot or in resume,
with Auto Display Mode and external display selected and the Card Dock connected, the
system will no longer come up in undocked mode.
A correction was made to eliminate problems with the PS/2 mouse function loss after
keyboard resume from hibernation mode. This would occur when the PS2 mouse was
connected with the Pointing Device set for Simultaneous.
A change was made to improve transfer speed when the TOSHIBA LAN CARD (LANCT00A) is
used.

I am thinking of going to 98 on the L100 because my hibernate/suspend has quit in
95, and also to get the 98-based Fast Infrared capabilities. But I don't want to lose
the suspend/hibernate feature.
