Have installed the software but having problems:
Firstly when I double click on the program in control panel the program opens but I
get a message <Error 45:software encountered internal error - restart>... if I ignore
the message the program window seems to appear normal and displays no devices detected
(despite my cellphone being in proximity and having its beam switched on). Oddly, if
I right click the tray icon and disable THEN right click and enable again I get a new
message: <COM5 invalid>
Let me just get a couple of issues sorted:
What exactly should I be seeing in my device manager/ports list? (My normal ports are:
COM1 (IRQ4) and ECP LPT1 (IRQ7)... the IRDA progam installs several others incl
<Generic IRDA...> and IRDA ports for LPT1 - what are the ONLY IRDA related ports that
should be listed here?
I intend to use a cellphone as alternative modem from time to time (currently use PC
Card modem on COM2)... I have to install the cellphone modem with software from an
Ericsson cd rom - I PRESUME I cannot do this UNTIL the Windows IRDA software I am
trying to set up is installed and supposedly working??
