Subject: Cooling problem...

Hi all,

Tried amnhalt on my W95osr2 L50 oc to 100 MHz today. Not so good result.

Took away rain, rebooted and 2clicked the amnhlt.bat file. The amnhlt.vxd is
copied to \system and it is registered in the registry. Checked both by
doing searches. Rebooted.

I then installed Office2000 over the NIC and the Libby was very hot to the
touch! A little surprising because I usually install large stuff over the
NIC (Office 97, Autocad2K, technical programs) and I do not recall it
getting so hot.

So I started rain again and lo and behold! the underside feels significantly
cooler 20 minutes later. I have the Libby standing on a metal bracket to
spread the heat. I am typing this on my main computer running PCAnywhere
over on the Libby. And it is much cooler. Ok, not so much disk access as
before, but still I have this sneaky feeling that amnhlt is not working. I
have run PCA before, without rain, and I seem to remember it getting quite
hot.
Is there anyway to check? Wintop, from PowerToys, used to show rain as
hogging the cpu, now it's the idle process. But can one find out if
amnhlt.vxd is doing it's job?

br

Franklin
(going back to dancing in the rain...)
