This should work fine.  I am actually using my 2.1G original drive from
my L100 as the / filesystem in another Linux machine.  I would really
make sure it is set as slave (check with the BIOS drive detect) as
Windows will attempt to reconfigure itself to the new hardware and
invariably screw itself beyond repair if the lib disk tries to boot.
