Subject: AW: The never ending story: Now I have it!

The main point, which I now understand is:

"Partitioning a HD inside the Libretto (with Libretto's BIOS ) automatically
leaves the neccessary space free."

A lot of misunderstanding coud be avoided, if this sentence would be printed
in the Libretto's manual or if the Toshiba hotline would be able to explain
this fact!

I thougt, I'm an advanced user ;-)) and so I prepared my HD inside another
computer - and then of course I always asked how to partition correct...

Windows NT and 2000 does not use BIOS, but you can see with NT or 2000 the
result of using FDISK: aprox. 71MB is left blank at the end of a HD < 8GB.
For HD's > 8GB I simply leave this 71MB free and the continue with
allocating partitions.
The exact sizes can be read out with DISKMAP.EXE, which is a tool of the
Windows NT Resource Kit (probably downloadable from Microsoft).
