"Previously cared for" Librettos are available in the Akihabara section of Tokyo,
generally for 1/2 to 2/3 of original price for a more recent model. The best
selection is usually at Sofmap. They have two used notebook showrooms. One is on the
West side of the main boulevard, a few doors North of Bank of Tokyo/Mitsubishi. The
other is about a block West of the boulevard, a few blocks North of the East/West
railroad track. I wish I could give you better directions, but giving directions in
Tokyo at all is a crapshoot.
Personally, I have bought two Libretto 60s and an IBM 560 from them and am completely
satisfied. Have your friend sign up for a member's points card if she doesn't already
have one.
Good luck.
