Libretti are, as you remember, unaffected by the floppy controller bug that
lead to the class action lawsuit.
As an update, I did get my $434 for each of my two laptops that were
affected (a Tecra 8000 bought @ $1200, PII/266, 64 Meg & 4 Gig w/12.1"
800x600 TFT display and 3 year warranty, and a Portege 3015 bought for
$1100), and I did get my two $225 Freecards, and my 2x3Com Airconnect cards
are on their way to me as I write this.
Effective cost of the Tecra 8000 is $766, before $225 Freecard.
Effective cost of the Portege 3015 is $666, before $225 Freecard.
But, I did have to wait about 13 months to get my refund/settlement/whatever
you want to call it.
BTW, I bought the Tecra when they announced the settlement was to be
finalized, in anticipation of participating in the settlement.
