Subject: Lib 70 pathetic network speed
I have a lib 70 with a 3com megahertz 10/100 / 56k modem combo card. My
desktop machine and libretto happily talk to each other at 10mb/s network
speed via a crossover RJ45 cable (a little LED on the PCMCIA card shows me
the selected speed), but any file copies are painfully slow.
I tried to transfer a game that was 340 megs, and it took 93 minutes. Thats
equivelant to a miniscule 60k/sec transfer rate! I would be expecting more
like 1mb/sec.
My desktop works much faster when paired with another desktop. Any ideas ?
