Subject: Problems with complete reinstall on Libretto 100CT

I have been attempting a complete reinstall of the operating system on my
Libretto 100CT. I had been running windows 95 ( the version of 100 CT I have
allowed a choice between win 95 and 98; I had opted for 95). I have used
the boot disk as supplied and CD1 of the two CD's in an Amacom baby CD drive
which I had installed previously. The formatting on the hard drive has been
carried out (3 times) but I cannot get past this stage. I get the following
message:
"Starting windows 98
Freecom PC driver for external ATAPI -IDE drive
Found PC card
Error PC card in socket A is not a Freecom PC card
PC card is not initialised"
..and a similar message for socket B

The hard drive is then formatted and I get:

"Invalid drive specified
invalid directory
RAMdrive does not exist
C:> "

Could it be that the boot disk has the driver for the Toshiba external CD
(is this a Freecom?); how do I get it to recognise my external CD drive? I
have the drivers for the Amacom on a floppy
Lastly how do I turn the machine off other than removing the battery and
power cord? The power button sends the machine into hibernation and Ctrl
+Alt + Del is not effective.
Apologies for the length of this question. I would be very grateful for any
assistance.
Gerry Roche
