That is correct. All versions of Street Atlas or Map'n'Go from Delorme, as
well as Microsoft Streets and Trips, allow exporting the data to the HDD.
Delorme ( for one ) allows you to pick the cities, counties or areas to make
a large file out of. In other words, the areas of detail do not have to be
contiguous. You could have NYC, Orlando, Polk County and Alabama. Or the
whole US. Precision Mapping used to have the areas in directories, which is
nice because you can add and subtract areas on the fly. But you have to
recreate the map file as you add or delete areas on Delorme.
