Subject: Error in PCI Communication Device
Good Evening:
I am relatively new to the list, and have learned a great deal listening to
all the answers, and even the banter. I have a 100CT into which I've
installed a 6GB Travelstar DJSA-210 (don't ask) partitioned with Partition
Magic (great utility) and set up Win95. I've worked through many of the
problems, even got the USB port on the replicator working.
There is an ongoing device driver problem reported in System
Properties/Device Manager. In "Devices by type" it shows up as "Other
Devices" and in "Devices by connection" it shows up under PCI bus, as "PCI
Communication Device." Under "PCI bus" is listed the Neomagic display, USB
Host Controller, IRQ Holder and CPU to PCI bridge, plus this goofy
question-marked "PCI Communication device". The status is reported as
incorrectly installed drivers. I can't get rid of it, if deleted Win95 just
reinstalls it the next boot - help!
