Try running it under DOS. Lots of other programs can interfere under Window
sand slow it down, esp. virus checkers, etc.

See my site for links to the three locations where the archives are being
hosted. The primary is searchable, and the largest because it goes all the way
back to 1997 (the earliest my TAR-ball of the mailing list archives I dsent to
the guy to hst them contained). The archives are also on the Libretto
Information CD so you can search them using your favorite search program.

Just install Win98SE, adjust Control Panel Power icons as appropriate (eg.
shut off HD after xx minutes), and install and run AMN Refridgerator (link on
my site) to halt the CPU when idle. The latter alone
can give you ~30 minutes more run time vs. w/o.
(not needed with Win2K or Linux as its built-in.)
