   logrotate should not put much of a load on your system, it should not take
   more than a minute to rotate 2meg of logs.  The only thing that I can think
   of that might cause a problem is if you have a clock skew problem
   (your system clock is sometime in the past, BEFORE the log files were created).
   That might confuse logrotate enough that it gets stuck -- just a guess.
