Subject: Re: Libretto 110 accessories?
David,
The cable is not built into the battery charger. The cable that connects
it to a Libretto 50/70 has a 'barrel' on each end. Since the voltage and
current are the same for the 50/70/100 (/110?), I don't see why it would
not be possible to have a cable with the 'barrel' at one end (to attach
to the battery charger) and a 'two pronged' connector at the other to
plug into the 100. I never really thought about it before, but I'd love
to have one if it is available. I still have the battery charger from my
70 (it does work with the 100/110 batteries, they just don't snap in)
and would be nice to have it power the dock. I only have the one power
supply right now and was considering buying another for that.
As a side, does anyone know WHY Toshiba went to the new 'proprietary'
connector? It sure is a REAL pain. The commonly available 'barrel'
connector on the 50/70 made it a lot easier to get generic power
supplies or hook up and external battery to them.
Regards,
Clinton Parker
PS: I still have a lot of 50/70 parts that I'm holding onto JUST in case
I get another 50 or 70. Am I crazy, or is it just wishful thinking. I
love everything about the 100 (relative to the 70) EXCEPT that it is a
half inch larger. Than pretty much makes it impossible to hold width
wise in my hand or slide in my pocket. OH well...
