I don't see any reason why not...

My 6G is:
4G windows
1.6G linux /
128M linux swap/
and the rest for the hibernate block.

The statement refers to the bios limits - Win uses the bios to get the disc 
parameters even though it doesn't use them once it's running, so even though 
there's disk there, windows can't see it without extra tricks (like on-track 
or similar). Linux is quite happy seeing the whole disk, provided the kernel 
is late enough (2.2.xx or later IIRC)

If you really want to see windows sillies...fdisk a windows partition under 
linux, say 1G. Check it with windows fdisk, sure enough it's 1G. Mow use 
format to format that partition. Last time I tried that (on a 6G) it 
cheerfully announced it was formatting 528M...and formatted the lot. Windows 
is not always too particular about these things :)
