Sorry, all Librettos Models 110 or lower cannot correctly see >8.4GB HDs w/o a
software drive manager or an OS that bypasses the BIOS.
No, there's no BIOS upgrades available to make it see >8.4GB correctly.
The L110 is the same as you L70 in this regard.

Based on the latests findings thus far, I would suggest leaving an empty space
that's about 200-300MB both below and above the 8.4GB (or whatever maximum your
PC sees under DOS w/o a drive manager), with parititions located before and
beyond that.
If you know how to write binary 1's to the HD and can figure out the exact
location of the hibernation partition from that, you won't have to leave as
much empty space. However, thus far, not one of the findings from others has
shown that the hibernation space is located in the exact same spot, or is the
exact same size between HDs. (see Libretto Mailing List archives for prior
posts and methods on finding this under Linux) As a result, my recommendation,
to be absolutely safe, is to leave a bigger buffer zone around where the
hiberation area is to be placed.

That would be a newer Libretto, of course! Unlikely they'll ever release a
newer BIOS given that these older models are already years old, and most users
never upgrade their HDs (those not on our list!).
