OK, I have to do this:
The installer (IIRC) enforces the 64 meg minimum. Once installed, all bets
are off.
48 Meg is, um, 50% larger than the 32 Meg the original poster's laptop had
in it.
Running Win2K *server* on less than 64 meg of ram is, um, hugely
sub-optimal...
That your friend could do it, does not mean it is practical as an on-going
system,
any use of the machine as *any* kind of non-trivial server would be very
slow, if
at all possible.
Of course, I am not hoping to dissuade anyone from doing it, if only to show
friends what you can boot on your rminimal system.
