Yep, I remembered this all of ten milliseconds after pushing send...both 
lids work on the 50, neither work on the 70. The 70 is therefore in some 
small way, toast.

I'm running out of ideas. Any chips on the 70 mobo with craters in the lids? 
I don't know where the video gets turned into pixels but I suspect that it's 
on the mobo...maybe one of the on-board fuses is dead, could be feeding 
power to the thing? Could you see any pixels in bright sunlight? At least 
that will tell us if the video is still getting there...
