I've not had that happen so these suggestions might be completely stupid but here they go ... all these are on the assumption that by 'suspend' you mean a hibernation (saving memory off to disk and turning off completely) as opposed to just going into low power mode. 1: Did you defrag in DOS, Windows or did you take the HDD out and defrag it in another computer? The former 2 *should* work although defragging in Windows is always better in general ... the latter is a definite no-no. 2: How are you suspending? Going start>suspend, pressing the button on the lid, closing the lid or running some suspend program? Try going start>suspend if you haven't already tried, alternatively in the BIOS set it to suspend mode, reboot in DOS mode (preferrably off a DOS floppy) then try what would now be the suspend button and see if it works. 3: Are you sure the ONLY thing thats changed between when it last worked and now is the defrag? 4: How big is your hard drive (and specifically is the hard drive close to or bigger than 8GB)? If its larger than 8GB, suspend may have infact been overwriting a little bit of the hard drive (especially if you set it up in another computer) and defrag may have been enough to confuse it. :-) - Raymond --- /~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\ | | "Does fuzzy logic tickle?" | | ___ | "My HDD has no reverse.
