If you never use > that, then you can use one big partition. AFAIK it's not possible to disable what I'm gonna term a "hardware - initiated" hibernate - for example, in the event of overheating (or, I've seen something similar when it gets confused on the boot immediately after a failed boot - don't ask, not sure I could duplicate it) - then it *WILL* hibernate according to where the BIOS "claims" the end of the HDD to be (ie at that magical 8.~ mark, if your HDD is bigger than that) regardless of what OS or other software you have in place. I'm planning to format IN THE LIBRETTO first which will result in one "primary" partition which ends at EXACTLY the right place. Then, I'll install Win'2K, allocate the remaining space (leaving the hibernation space between the "primary" partition and everything else, of course), and configure Win'2K to hibernate in the same place as the BIOS. ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
