    Ok, I got it!

Drive D: worked fine in Windows 98 but would not mount in RH7.2  .

Looking at the D: partition with Partition Magic showed that it was not 
formated, even though it had been formatted with Windows.

I reformatted the D: drive with Partition Magic and everything is now a ok.

Ok on the the next glitch.
